Marketers on a Mission

This week two members of the Proclaim team embark on a journey across the ocean to assist a ministry that Proclaim has supported for many years: Anchor of Hope-Romania.

Anchor of Hope’s mission is to share the love of Christ with the babies and older orphans who will live out their lives in government institutions. After Romania’s dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu , was overthrown in 1989, the world learned of the shocking conditions in which many children lived in the country’s orphanages. Much has been improved since then – both by the Romanian government and NGOs – but there remains much more to do.

Anchor of Hope provides education, physical therapy, foster care and love to the fatherless children growing up in these institutions. But above all, AOH teaches these children the Bible and what it says about their one true hope in a dark world: Jesus Christ.

Shelley and Rachel join a team of 10 other folks from Christ Community Church in Wilmington, NC. While there, the team will (as we like to say in the South) “love on” kids, provide physical therapy and other minor medical services, and help run an annual offsite camp experience for 60 orphans.
