Meet the Proclaim Interactive team!
Tara Hackney, Special Projects Coordinator
When did you start?
T: In a very real sense, I’ve been at Proclaim since before it was Proclaim. About 17 years ago, Spence started building web sites from our bedroom that was so tiny we didn’t have room for a chair! The desk barely fit at the end of our bed, so he would sit there and do his work.
In the beginning, he did the technical and design work and I edited proposals and site content.
Can you explain your role?
T: My role at Proclaim has evolved over time and honestly, I’ve done lots of different things. The most important thing I do is help Spence navigate through the big decisions that invariably come when you own your own business.
As Special Projects Coordinator, I renovate, decorate, prep welcome baskets, send gifts and plan parties.
Where has been your favorite place in the world to visit?
T: Paris. Spence proposed on top of the Eiffel Tower at sunset. Y’all knew he was smart, but he’s also romantic!
Tell us about your pets.
T: It’s funny to me that I have lots of pets, because I’ve never really been an animal person. However, when God blessed me with three little boys, I knew pets (along with long stents of caring for various yard wildlife) were inevitable.
Instead of snips, snails, and puppy dog tails though, we have gerbils, rabbits and hermit crabs. Oh and fish! Lots and lots of fish! 🙂
What’s your favorite outlet for your creativity?
T: I process basically every emotion I ever have through writing. And I’ve especially found it helpful to write out my prayers. Words are so powerful and poignant and can mean so many different things depending on what order you choose to put them in. I like figuring out what order sounds best.
