Can you describe your role at Proclaim?
S: My role is to optimize clients’ websites specifically around the keywords they’d like to rank for on popular search engines like Google and Bing. If you rank higher in the search engine results, then I’m doing my job!
What do you like to do outside of work? 
S: Outside of work, I play with my two dogs (12-year-old golden retriever and a 2-month-old mutt), hang out with my husband, enjoy all things fishing and being on the water, and I’m an avid reader.
Are you binge-watching any favorite series?
S: I’m embarrassed to say that I binge watch a lot of different shows. Often, the TV is more for background noise, but I enjoy some of Netflix’s “trashy” reality tv shows on occasion and I love police procedurals like Law & Order: SVU or Castle.
Where are you from originally and what drew you to Wilmington?
S: I’m originally from the Mitten State (Michigan). Although I live in North Carolina now, I still support all sports teams from Detroit. I came from Michigan to Wilmington to attend graduate school at UNCW and I never left.
I love the weather here, I love fishing and different water activities. In my last 10 years here, I’ve cultivated quite the friend group and you may have seen us around town at Christmas time dressed in Christmas-themed onesies. I met my husband in Wilmington and we own a house in the Monkey Junction area, and I can’t imagine being anywhere else.
What do you enjoy about your role here at Proclaim?
S: I love meeting new people, learning about new clients and really starting to brainstorm how I can help their website rank higher. Overall, I love implementing new ideas and being able to witness how they work for the client. And it’s a great feeling to be able to show a client positive results from new strategies.
What inspires you?
S: Overall, I’m a pretty laid back person who can be tough when I need to be. However, whenever I witness someone making a difference, I am awestruck. No matter the size of the gesture, if I can witness a positive impact, I will be inspired. I try to leave places and people better than I found them. And I try to be very aware of my presence in this world and how it affects others.
